祭りのハイライトといえば「花火」。今年は震災を受けての自粛など様々な要因から花火の少ない祭りシーズンだった。 首里では恒例の文化祭が11月３日に開かれる。年にいちど、画廊を臨時休業してまで繰り出す歩行者天国のお祭りだ。ご近所の芸大からも、かわいい学生の皆さんがポスターやらＤＭなどを持参してご案内くださる。 親しい友達に声をかけ、古式行列や獅子舞、旗頭などを楽しみながらあちこち散策しようと目論んでいる。 夜、首里城下の竜潭(池)ほとりは人だかりとなり大輪の打ち上げ花火を味わうのである豪快な音のあとにやさしくはぜて落ちる火の粉を見ていると、人生のことなどをふと考える。皆同じだろうなぁ。なんだか元気が沸いてくる。 花火は華やかなもの。しかし、鎮魂や祈り、慰めや励ましのチカラもあると信じたい。

Fireworks are the highlights of many Festivals. We who reside in Shuri,are expecting yearly event"Shuri-bunka-sai"(Name changed into"Ryuku-Ocho-Matsuri"recently)on November 3rd(Culture day=Japanese national holiday).Daytime iis nice to walk around on a street closed to car traffic and the Old Ryuku-Kingdom parade are so gorgeous to see. And in the evening,Fireworks shoot up at the Ryutan-pond area. This year,we Japanese strictly think about the victim people and the land of Tohoku-area hit by Tsunami..We deeply pray for all who still in afflictions. Beautiful Fireworks reminds us those things.I just believe the fireworks bring the people kind of.."Power of Consolation & Revival".
