is coming in line immediately. The Naha Marathon is one of Japan's largest citizens' full 42.195km marathon with over 30.000 runners and joggers participating every year. We spectators would love to boost each runnners either the serious athlete or the clown who wear the stupid costume.Happy running! On 2007,the traditional"Ayajo-Tsunahiki" in Ryukyu kingdom revival in Shuri area for celebrate 15th anniversary of Shuri-jo-castle opening.It's unique rule is fight twice and result MUST TO BE Draw.If we fight like that in our ordinary life,the world will be more peaceful! |

Shi-shi-mai(Lion-dances)are widely perfomed
at many area of Okinawa to pray for a good
harvest and rituals to despel evil spirits
on the fall night of full moon. Here in Tera-cho,Shuri where KYOKOART Gallery locates on,local young guys perform the 500years traditional shi-shi-mai as the successors. We look forward this event in a full moon night every year.Respectable. |

"Eisa" is known as the Bon Festival,a
three-day observance when ancestor spirits
are invited to visit their families in the
living world. Eisa dances during these period are for welccoming ancestral spirits. Nowadays,"Eisa" dances are enjoyed more casualy and widely throughout Okinawa.Children practice Eisa dances for their sports day.Young people in okinawa may be able to dance "Mirukumunari" all together. |

The Hari-boat(sabani)race is one of the most
traditional event especially for the fishermen
throughout Okinawa in the early summer season. Hari had came from China during the era of the Ryukyu Kingtom and it's for wishing whole fishermen's luck and safe fishing.Nowadays,each festivals got more various kind of colorful boats and racers like students team,wemens team,and much more. At the every location of the festival,audiences could enjoy concerts,foods and fireworks as well. Have you ever been to the most earliest cherry
blossom festival held yearly in Motobu,
the
northern region of Okinawa? It is simply
walk up and down the Mt.Yae but the
view
is delightfull.The full bloomed cherry
blossoms
covered the road like Pink veiled,and
we
could enjoy the panoramic sight from
the
top. On the otherhand,I love to enjoy viewing the cherry blossom tree in a neighbor's garden through the window of my house with having japanese Sakura-tea(it contain a dried petal) and japanese sweets.And of course,reading a favorite book at the same time.What a precious moment it is! |
